Marion Tipple is an award winning Vancouver/Whistler based photographer, who from an early age has roamed the world with her camera. Born and educated in England, she has also lived in South Africa and Canada, which she now considers home.
She has studied with Master Photographers including Galen Rowell, Nevada Wier, David Alan Harvey, Steve McCurry and most recently Greg Gorman. Her photographs have drawn acclaim at both solo and group exhibitions and at lecture presentations.
For the past 20 years, she has been exploring Asia, predominately the land of the Tibetan Plateau where she has trekked extensively in remote regions. In these wild and beautiful landscapes however, it has been the people, particularily the children, which have mostly captured her attention.
Marion is a volunteer board director, past president and current sponsorship director of the Trans
Himalayan Aid Society (TRAS), a Vancouver based NGO which, since 1962 has been sponsoring children and funding grass root
projects in Tibet, India and Nepal, to improve the health and education
of children and youth. |
